    Coursework and duration

    The modular “CAS Music-Making in a Classroom Setting” runs for a semester and comprises a workload of around 450 hours (15 ECTS points). This includes classroom teaching on the one hand and self-study (incl. work experience placements) on the other. 

    Study periods

    The CAS degree programme runs for one semester. It starts in January. The CAS is made up of the following five modules:

    • Module 1 / Music in a classroom setting – foundations and general didactics
    • Module 2 / Music in a Classroom Setting – instrument-specific practice
    • Module 3 / Perspectives of a second instrument or module of choice
    • Module 4 / Inclusion in group tuition
    • Module 5 / Coaching and work experience placements
