    Dance

There are three Dance programmes at ZHdK. The course in Classical Academic Dance, leading to a Federal Certificate of Proficiency EFZ at apprenticeship level, the Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Dance and at Masterโ€™s level there are two programmes โ€“ Choreography and Teaching and Coaching Dance Professionals.

    Stage Dancer

Offering professional training in classical dance, Zurich Dance Academy prepares talented children and young people aged 11 to 19 for their future careers as dancers.
Our institution provides widely acclaimed ballet education and is a sought-after destination for students from Switzerland, Europe and overseas.
A team of teachers with outstanding international reputations assures the high standard and quality we provide in our education. This is reflected in the fact that our graduates are found in companies all over the world. We are a partner school of several well-known dance and ballet competitions, including the Prix de Lausanne, Youth America Grand Prix and Tanzolymp Berlin.

Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Dance

The approach to contemporary dance followed by the Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Dance course at ZHdK engages with the academic dance tradition (including classical ballet). The central aim of the training provided is to develop the future dancersโ€™ technical skills and artistic sensibility. Students become familiar with various styles of contemporary dance, and are able to move flexibly between them.

    Master of Arts in Dance

The Master of Arts in Dance offers two different fields of study: Choreography and Teaching and Coaching Dance Professionals.
The choreography programme equips students to work as choreographers in the field of professional stage dance and other related fields.
On the โ€œMaster of Arts in Dance, Teaching and Coaching Dance Professionalsโ€ programme, students specialize in the field of training leadership/coaching/lecturing for professional stage dance.
Both fields of study are very closely linked. In addition to learning teaching skills and how choreographers work and carrying out artistic research, students develop their own individual teaching profile. They have the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary work and establish contacts within the international dance network.

The Master Cluster ยซFilm Dance Theaterยป makes open, cross-disciplinary studies possible.
