    Admission requirements

    The training programme is aimed at university or university of applied sciences and arts graduates with professional experience in a music therapy-relevant field.

    • University/university of applied sciences and arts graduates in disciplines such as music, psychology, medical/nursing science, special education, education/social education, social work, theology or special therapies (e.g. speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychomotor therapy, physiotherapy)
    • Evidence of work experience in his or her first job
    • Evidence of experience dealing with sick people or people requiring assistance
    • Applicants must have knowledge of basic music theory and have several years of experience playing a primary and a secondary instrument
    • Experience with improvization and musical accompaniment; familiarity with voice and body language
    • 10 hours of self-awareness in individual or group sessions (psychotherapy, music therapy or art therapy)

    In exceptional cases, applicants who hold equivalent degrees or can provide evidence that they meet the requirements for successful completion of the course based on other qualifications may be allowed onto the course by special admission (โ€œsur dossierโ€). In such cases, the Head of Programme reviews the factors that will determine an applicantโ€™s success on the course.

    Admission procedure

    The recording procedure is carried out online (Zoom video conferencing programme).

    It consists of a conversation and two integrated musical sequences. The latter are organised as follows:

    • Sing a live song and accompany yourself with a harmony instrument, then transition smoothly into an improvisation. Please choose a song that you are familiar with.
    • Live improvisation with an instrument of your choice and/or voice on the theme โ€œFrom chaos to orderโ€.
