Costs

The costs for the MAS Design Direction consist of the tuition fees for three CAS programmes plus the MAS final module.

The tuition fee for a CAS degree programme is CHF 8800 (plus CHF 200 application fee).

The costs for the MAS final module are CHF 4300 (plus CHF 200 application fee).

Online Application

Applications for MAS Design Direction are processed directly through ZHdK’s online tool (ONLA). You can find more information on how to use ONLA below.

  • Information about the online application

    You can interrupt the application process at any time and complete it at a later date. The information you have entered will be saved. Mandatory fields are marked with a *.

    Once you have entered all your information, complete the process by clicking on “Finish entry”. The data can no longer be amended. Your submission will be reviewed by the Continuing Education Office.

  • Login with ZHdK-Login or SWITCH edu-ID

    If you have a ZHdK login, you may apply with your ZHdK login.
    If you have no ZHdK login, you will need a SWITCH edu-ID.

  • Documents to be submitted

    Curriculum vitae
    A brief and clear outline of your education and professional career history.

    Photo of yourself in JPG format
    Upload a recent photo in passport photo quality (at least 320 x 400 pixels). The photo must be high-contrast and your face must be clearly visible. It may not feature other people or objects.

    Social security number
    If you live or work in Switzerland, you will find your Swiss social security number (756…) on your OASI card or on your Swiss health insurance card.

    • The documents must be uploaded in PDF format. If you have several individual PDF files, you can upload these one after another. 

  • Additional documents for admission to the MAS thesis

    Outline
    Outline with maximum of 2 A4 pages in length. This describes:

    • the motivation for the MAS degree
    • how the degree programmes that you attended in the past relate to your educational objective
    • topic proposal for the MAS thesis
    • Abstract with focus, concept and content of the planned MAS thesis

    Folder of work
    As proof of your professional experience, please submit a dossier with samples of your work from the fields of Typography, Editorial Design, Graphic Design, Type Design or UI/UX Design and/or Creative Coding (approx. 5 projects, each of which must be 3 to 5 pages in length, PDF). It should contain (max. 2) works from the previously attended CAS degree programmes.
