CAS Transforming Space
Successfully designing spatial change projects in the context of digital and social transformation
The CAS Transforming Space is currently undergoing further development. Shorter units and microcredential formats are being examined. We will inform you as soon as registrations are possible.
At first glance, it seems paradoxical: the possibilities offered by working or learning remotely from anywhere are now generating discussion about spatial issues. This is where the CAS Transforming Space comes in: The course focuses on current challenges of the built environment which are part of the interplay between spatial design, societal change and digital transformation. We focus on the dimensions of work space, living space and urban space, i.e. on the questions of how we work together, cohabit and live together. In these fields, the participants see themselves as agents of spatial transformation.

As a culturally-shaped phenomenon, space is designed, conceived, imagined and planned; space is perceived, experienced, remembered and narrated. According to the reflections of the French sociologist Henri Lefebvre, space is continually being produced and reproduced in this way. Participants on the CAS explore the different categories of spatial knowledge, familiarize themselves with new tools and technologies, and learn how to use targeted strategies to design, change and map space. With the goal of addressing complex spatial transformation projects in a professional manner. By redesigning the working environment, through artistic interventions, participation processes, developing new services or through corporate initiatives.
