Objective
The ZHdK Foundation awards excellence scholarships to outstanding students to help them finance their master's degree at Zurich University of the Arts. The scholarship provides substantial support, enabling exceptional talents to concentrate fully on their studies and develop their potential to the full.
Development
The programme was launched in 2019 with two generous bequests and will be offered for all disciplines until the end of 2025. From autumn 2025, excellence scholarships will only be awarded to students from the Department of Music. The awarding of scholarships will be suspended for the fields of design, fine arts, film, dance, theatre, art education and transdisciplinary studies, as no further funds are available.
Scholarships for Excellence in Music
The scholarships are awarded to particularly talented students enrolled in the Master's programmes in Music at ZHdK. Each scholarship amounts to CHF 6,000 per semester and is awarded for the standard duration of four semesters (total CHF 24,000). National and international students with very good previous achievements who wish to complete their Master's degree in music at ZHdK are eligible to apply. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must pass the ZHdK admission procedure with an excellent rating and be nominated and selected by an internal jury of experts.
