    Topic-specific funding

    The funds of the ZHdK Foundation

    By making a donation to the ZHdK Foundation, you will be supporting talented young musicians, dancers, designers and artists with their demanding studies. You get to decide where your support should go.

    For example, you can make donations to student funds (โ€œSolidarity Fundโ€, โ€œExcellence scholarshipsโ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€) and earmark them for particular purposes, or not โ€“ as you see fit. In the fields of music, theatre and art and design, you have the opportunity to support students from selected disciplines via topic-specific funds. An overview of the individual funds is provided below:

    1. Student Fund โ€“ support for everyone

    By making a donation to the Student fund, you will be helping ZHdK students from all the arts and design disciplines to achieve their study and career objectives. The fund is used to provide scholarships to students who need assistance to finance their studies. They can be in the form of excellence scholarships for high-achieving students or scholarships to support students in a difficult financial situation, such as the emergency help provided by the Corona Solidarity fund at present. 

    2. Design, Film, Art, Teaching

    Design and Art Fund: By making a donation to the Design and Art Fund, you will be supporting ZHdK students from the fields of study of Design, Film, Art and Teaching (Art Education) who are in a difficult financial situation and reliant on support for their studies. You can also make an earmarked donation in favour of one of these disciplines.

    Creative Economies Fund: By making a donation to the Creative Economies Fund, you will be supporting and promoting the activities of the Zurich Centre for Creative Economies (ZCCE), the international centre of excellence of ZHdK in the field of Creative Industry. 

    3. Music

    Music Scholarship Fund: By making a donation to the Music Scholarship Fund, you will be supporting ZHdK students of the Department of Music of ZHdK who are in a difficult financial situation and reliant on support for their studies.

    Classic Fund: By making a donation to the Classic Fund, you will be helping to finance the extraordinary operating expenses for ZHdKโ€™s Department of Music, e.g. for competitions, purchase of instruments, projects, etc.

    Momento Fund: By making a donation to the Momento Fund, you will be supporting the courses of ZHdK's Department of Music in creating contemporary and experimental music and in improvisation. The funds are generally used for projects.

    Orchestra fund: By making a donation to the Orchestra fund, you will be supporting both the orchestra projects of all kinds of ensemble, orchestra and chamber music formations studying at ZHdKโ€™s Department of Music as well as deserving members of these formations.

    PreCollege Music Fund: By making a donation to the PreCollege Fund, you will be supporting ยซPreCollege Musicยป at ZHdK; for example, by financing reductions in tuition fees, projects, events, etc.

    Violinists Fund: By making a donation to the Violinistsโ€™ Fund, you will be funding the education of young violinists, e.g. by financing concerts and performances, master classes, music competitions, but also by contributing to the insurance, repair and lending of instruments.

    4. Theatre and Scenography

    ZHdK Theatre Student Fund: By making a donation to the Theatre Student Fund, you will be supporting ZHdK students of the subject area Theatre who are in financial distress, so that they can concentrate on their studies. Study contributions, mobility contributions or group contributions can be made from the fund.

    Bequest of the Emil and Emmie Oprecht Acting Academy: As part of the annual audition, the Oprecht Prize is awarded to actors in the final semester of the Master Theatre. Each winning person or group is awarded prize money amounting to CHF 1,500. Up to 3 people/groups can be selected every year.

    Roman Clemens Fund: The fund was set up to confer the โ€œRoman Clemens Awardโ€ on an annual basis. Students of the Department of Performing Arts and Film taking the specialization in Scenography may apply. The award is usually worth between CHF 5,000 and CHF 10,000. Individual applicants as well as those who have formed a team may apply.
