Major-Minor Programme Model
At ZHdK, students choose a Major. In addition to this core subject, they can choose one or two Minors to deepen or expand their major skills and knowledge across various disciplines. This wide choice of courses is unique in Europe and enables students to develop and sharpen their individual profile. At Master’s level Cultural Publishing offers the Minor Creative Writing. Below, you will find a list of all Minors that can be taken alongside the Major Cultural Publishing.
Possible minors for this major
Individual Area of Study
Instead of a minor, students can also choose an Individual Area of Study (ISB). Courses chosen as part of an ISB are cross-disciplinary and subject to special admissions requirements. The number of places on such courses is limited.

Cooperations
Cultural publishing operates at the intersection of culture, media, the public sphere and society. It takes the form of publications, digital formats, transmedia projects and research contributions. Cultural journalists examine current discourses and take a critical and independent stance in their contributions. Under the label Plattform Kulturpublizistik, students and lecturers are (co-)publishers of various print publications. Their cooperation partners include media outlets such as REPORTAGEN, Kunstbulletin and WOZ; festivals such as Visions du Réel Nyon and Theater Spektakel; museums such as the Museum Rietberg, the Museum für Gestaltung and the Fotomuseum Winterthur; and publishers such as Diaphanes, Lars Müller Publishers, Spector Books and Limmatverlag. In digital formats such as kulturpublizistik.ch and the literature podcast lit.re, students act as experts, mediators, authors and critics.
