What are the current challenges facing cultural policy research? This is the question addressed by the digital cultural policy summer academy organised by the Institute for Cultural Policy of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft, the Institute for Cultural Policy of the University of Hildesheim and the Institute for Cultural Participation Research (IKTf) on Wednesday, 1 September and Thursday, 2 September 2021, starting at 1 pm. With this event, the organisers want to continue the dialogue on future issues and central approaches in cultural policy research.
Roman Page from the Research Team of the ZCCE is part of the panel on 1 September 2021, titled "Current challenges of national cultural statistics in Germany and Switzerland". It will focus on the following questions:
What is the state of national cultural statistics in Germany and Switzerland? How is the collection of cultural statistics data (legally) anchored, organised in each case? How is the topic of Covid 19 currently dealt with in cultural statistics? What challenges do the data collectors face? What ideas do other research actors bring to cultural statistics? What needs do actors in cultural policy practice have with regard to cultural statistics as a central basis for cultural policy action? And: What can we learn from each other? We will discuss these questions in the session on the basis of short inputs - each from a representative of the national statistical authority and from cultural policy practice or research.
