    Sustainability Dossier Funding Programme

The Sustainability Dossier promotes disciplinary and interdisciplinary sustainability projects pursued by students, faculty and mid-tier staff. The funded projects demonstrate the relevance of the arts, design and education in the thematic field of sustainability — in practice, theory and ongoing debate — and are forward-looking and innovative. Successful applicants receive funding to test their knowledge and skills in applied projects in order to make an effective contribution to sustainable transformation and development.

sustainship: Our Support and Funding Platform

Funded by U Change, sustainship is a funding and support platform at ZHdK dedicated to developing and promoting impactful sustainable action. The platform gathers knowledge and needs and creates new educational formats to address the challenges of implementing social and ecological change from the perspective of the arts and design.

sustainship brings together stakeholders and key issues, as well as funds relevant projects. It enables students to develop their own approaches and offers them appropriate support and funding opportunities.

Between 2021 and 2024, ZHdK participated in the SCNAT U Change program with the project “Sustainship – Sustainability in the Arts and Design.” One part focused on sustainability at ZHdK in research, teaching, outreach, and transfer, while the second part provided annual support for specific student and faculty projects on sustainability at ZHdK. In the recently published report, we summarize Sustainship: its initial situation, the activities carried out, the results achieved, and the key insights gained.
