    Hybrid events | Digital displays

Hybrid events are so much more than an "emergency solution" during the pandemic. In future, they will continue to offer opportunities for people to engage and participate where physical restrictions and time constraints would previously have prevented them. Such formats also make it much easier to reach a broader and more international audience and to improve the university's ecological footprint. What challenges arise in hybrid events for artistic presentation, especially in relation to performative practices? What interactions can we observe between digital displays and artistic forms of presentation?

Addressing these and similar questions has shown that remarkable hybrid event formats are the creative achievement of organisers who know how to choose the appropriate digital tools and platforms for a specific setting, and employ these technologies in state-of-the-art ways. That today's high standards for inclusivity and international orientation are met is a given. The conscious and careful selection of tools and infrastructure plays a crucial part for the success of hybrid events; more is not necessarily more here.
