    Guiding principles

The Digital Council's guiding principles define the fundamental values and intentions of the committee:

    • The focus is on the human.
At ZHdK, we consider and assess the digital from the human perspective. All decisions are made on this premise.

    • Digital is more than just digital.
In the arts and in design, analogue processes will continue to play a decisive role. At ZHdK, we think "analogue" and "digital" integrally together and thus beyond the apparent opposition. When it comes to the implementation and use of technologies, we prioritize the cultural, social and ecological factors.

    • Digital only where it makes sense.
At ZHdK, we implement digital solutions only where or such that they have a clear added value.

    • Active engagement.
Everyone at ZHdK is enouraged to critically reflect on the principles and effects of digitalization. Newly emerging possibilities are to be examined also with a view to their implications and limitations.

    • A lived culture of digitality.
The above principles are clearly perceptible in everyday life at ZHdK and determine thus the culture of digitality at the university.

    Rules of procedure

The Rules of procedure of the Digital Council detail the tasks, responsibilities and organisation of the committee:
