    Potential areas of employment.

Theatre educators often work in teams, initiate and manage collaborative processes and approaches. They take an exploratory, reflective stance when dealing with social issues and use a wide range of methods to link content-based interests with artistic practice. When working collaboratively, they take responsibility and are able to remain calm, are aware and able to communicate clearly in new and challenging situations. Studying at ZHdK prepares students to work in many different areas of theatre education:

    • Permanent employment at theatres, where theatre educators run courses for children and young adults and act as a contact between theatres and educational institutions such as kindergartens, schools and youth centres.
    • Managing and running projects for external clients (e.g. theatre associations)
    • Designing and implementing continuing education courses for teachers, for example
    • Working in community centres and centres for senior citizens, in cultural and youth clubs and many other sociocultural institutions
    • Utilizing theatre education approaches for training sessions in the area of personality development, perception training, and experiential education.
    • Theatre educationalists also play an important role in the independent theatre scene, in which they develop their own educational projects and work as production mangers for theatre groups.
