Educational objectives.

Taking into account your prior education, the programme is focused on enabling you to expand, consolidate and professionalize your artistic, intellectual and social potential. Through individual supervision, the particular emphasis on general musical education and the wide range of courses on offer, you are supported in continuously developing your interests and preparing for your future professional activities.

Graduates develop a critical perspective on their own artistic discipline and are therefore capable of working in both an interdisciplinary and a transdisciplinary manner. In a creative industry environment that is changing all the time, they use independent artistic methods and are capable of opening up new musical perspectives and continuously expanding their expertise.

Degree title:
Master of Arts ZHdK in Composition and Theory with a Major in Electroacoustic Composition

Potential areas of employment.

Composers of electroacoustic music often interpret or perform their own music in the studio or on the stage. They also build their instruments by developing their own hardware and software. The Major in “Electroacoustic Composition” provides them with the artistic and technical skills required for this. With the option of expanding their specialist training with courses from other degree programmes (Sound Engineering, Contemporary Composition, Music Theory, Film Music, Sound Design, etc.), graduates can enter a variety of professional fields.
