    Organ students at the Symposium

One of the main topics of the organ symposium, “Orgel Orgue Organo Organ 2011“ which runs in Zurich between 8–11 September, is the development of young academics. The organizers of the event agree that the promotion of youth cannot be delegated only to organizations, churches or (music)-schools which indeed should support the provision of rooms and finance: The central catalyst which decides on whether an organized event is enthralling and catching and is experienced with enthusiasm, is and remains the organist/s, on site. All organ-players must be aware of this relevant task and its significance

Through their studies, all organ students should receive the encouragement and requisite know-how for the purposes of general cultural mediation. In organist terms, this means appearing and being able to appear within special Youth-Development Promotions.

The symposium “Orgel Orgue Organo Organ 2011 – International symposium to the Significance and Future of Organ, 8–11 September in Zurich” takes place as an obligatory event for students of the music conservatoires Basel, Bern, Lucerne and Zurich. The students have admission to all on offer at the symposium.

Study day “Organ Presentations for Children and the Youth”

In the course of the preparation for “Orgel Orgue Organo Organ 2011 – International Symposium for the Significance and Future of the Organ”, 60 organ students (BA/MA/CAS/DAS) from the music conservatoires of Basel, Bern, Lucerne and Zurich met on 15 January 2011 for a study day in Bern, on the subject of “Organ presentations for Children and the Youth”.

    Semester Focal point “Organ presentation”

In the spring semester of 2011, each BA and MA organ student from the music colleges of Bern, Basel, Lucerne and Zurich will plan, organize and carry out an organ presentation for children or the youth (including video documentation).
Graduates of the C-Training program, CAS / DAS church music course, are invited to be voluntarily involved in this project.
