Do you want to create new kinds of experiential spaces that fuse art, design and technology? The “Immersive Arts – basic” minor highlights multi-sensorial and performative processes in which the borders between media dissolve and participant and environment become one. You’ll explore design practices for immersive environments, conceive and implement immersive processes as individual or collective experience and experiment with different possibilities in interdisciplinary teams.
Skills acquired in the course
Students learn:
– to design playful fusions of real and virtual phenomena
– to apply goal-driven working methods using both high and low-tech approaches
– to explore and critically reflect on the integration and application of digital technologies (e.g. virtual reality, augmented reality, projection mapping, sensing or 3D audio) in artistic-creative projects.
– to incorporate and implement interdisciplinary solutions in collaborative work in a constructive and comprehensible manner

Major-Minor Programme Model
At ZHdK, students choose a Major. In addition to this core subject, they can choose one or two Minors to deepen or expand their major skills and knowledge across various disciplines. This wide choice of courses is unique in Europe and enables students to develop and sharpen their individual profile.
