Would you like to develop a collaborative project in the Immersive Arts Space, while improving your practical and theoretical knowledge about extended reality in the process? In the “Immersive Arts – advanced” minor, student consolidate their technology-based art and design practices, and design immersive experiential spaces as individual or collective experiences. The interdisciplinary minor offers advanced students the opportunity to realize an interdisciplinary project in virtual or augmented reality at their own pace with the assistance of expert mentors.
Skills acquired in the minor.
Students learn:
– to design playful fusions of real and virtual phenomena
– to apply goal-driven working methods using both high and low-tech approaches
– to explore and critically reflect on the integration and application of digital technologies (e.g. virtual reality, augmented reality, projection mapping, sensing or 3D audio) in artistic-creative projects.
– to incorporate and implement interdisciplinary solutions in collaborative work in a constructive and comprehensible manner
Admissions requirements.
Students apply as individuals or as a group with a convincing interdisciplinary project that can be completed within a semester. Applicants must have successfully completed “Immersive Arts – basic” or demonstrate appropriate digital skills (XR projects, game engines, Max/MSP, 3D modelling software or equivalent).

You need the following languages to take this minor:
– English: to be able to follow a discussion
– English: to actively participate in a verbal exchange
– English: to understand a text
– English: to write a text
Benefits of studying this minor.
The minor takes place in the Immersive Arts Space with state-of-the-art infrastructure (e.g. motion capture system, video mapping, 3D audio, virtual and augmented reality headsets). New research findings are continually incorporated into teaching. The professor and research associates have extensive technical expertise and long-standing experience in art and design practices.
Time structure.
The minor takes place as a full-day course in the minor weeks in week 2 to 4 and week 8 to 10 and continues on Friday afternoons during the semester.
