Educational objectives.

Prepared for the real world.
As part of the Major in “Documentary Filmmaking”, you will learn to undertake in-depth research, adopt a nuanced view and take a bold stance. As a writer, you will look for your own cinematic narrative that can capture an audience whilst also provoking a response. You will also learn about artistic research issues at the University of Zurich’s Institute of Film Studies.

ZHdK connects teaching and research. With predoctoral and doctoral programmes, our pro­grammes invests in up-and-coming talent. With research institutes including the Institute for the Performing Arts and Film and the Immersive Arts Space, ZHdK has become a byword for the increasing importance of innovation, digitalization and practice-based research.
