    • Gianna Bassan

My name is Gianna Bassan and I was born in Italy in 1998. I lived in the United States for 17 years before I came to ZHdK. I studied dance at the Northern Cincinnati Youth Ballet and Boston Conservatory. While I am studying at ZHdK, I want to learn more about contemporary dance and the diversity that it involves.

    • Elise De Heer

After going to a contemporary dance performance, this became my career goal. This is why I trained at the “Vooropleiding Theaterdans” in Enschede first; I later went to Codarts in Amsterdam and now I am at ZHdK. The inspiring atmosphere and open-mindedness that prevails here among artists from all disciplines will make me the artist that I want to become.

    • Sophie Feige

My name is Sophie and I come from a place near Koblenz in Germany.
I started dancing when I was a small child; then, when I was 16, I moved to Essen so I could attend the sixth form in the dance department at the Essen-Werden grammar school. I spent the last three years getting my preparatory training there. This has given me the opportunity to continue my education here in Zurich and I am really grateful and overjoyed to be able to learn more about dance, about myself and about my body. I am so delighted to be at the start of an exciting, new journey to develop my potential and become the dancer that I can be.

My name is Charlott / Charly. I was born in 1999 and come from Germany. Initially, I did rhythmic gymnastics and then went to the Palucca University of Dance where I completed my basic training in 2016. Since I have been studying here at ZHdK, I have been pushed to my limits every day. I want to learn how I can surpass these limits and I want to develop more and more every day. ZHdK is the perfect place to turn this into a reality.

I am extremely motivated and I am looking forward to working with experienced lecturers and renowned choreographers while studying at ZHdK.

    • Gian Luca Lazzarini

My name is Gian Luca Lazzarini and I come from Italy. I started dancing when I was seven and have not stopped. I decided to audition for ZHdK because I feel that I am better at contemporary dance than ballet. I have felt sure that I have chosen the correct path for becoming a professional dancer, ever since I have been here. This has been my goal ever since I started dancing.

    • Alessio Russo

Hello, my name is Alessio. I was born in Albenga (Liguria) in 1999. I have enjoyed dancing since I was a child. I decided I wanted to dance when a modern jazz dance teacher came to teach us at school. When I was 16, I discovered that dance was a form in which I could express myself. While I was studying art at Imperia, I went to classes to learn ballet, contemporary dance and hip hop. I am really grateful to be able to come to Zurich to study. The Toni Campus inspires me every day.
