Course content.
The “Creators’ Room” is the modern version of the classic “Writers’ Room” (a common term in the film world). As an introduction, you will acquire sound knowledge in the field of cross-media storytelling. You will analyze well-known storyworlds and take a closer look at national and international case studies. Through the exchange with authors and producers, you will gain insights into their creative processes. The focus is on how complex narrative worlds can be developed in an interdisciplinary team rather than individually.
In a second phase, you will develop your own storyworld in a team. This will be used to develop concepts for audiovisual projects, all of which will be set in this storyworld. The focus here is on the collective creative process. We move in all genres and on different platforms – from comics to podcasts to series for streaming services or social media, anything is possible. Your concepts will be sketched out and presented in the form of a pitch to industry experts.
