All students are required to prove certain entry-level competencies as a condition of participation for the minor “Creative Writing – basic”. The entry-level competencies will be assessed as described below:
- Dossier with completed motivation form and work samples
The portfolio (= 1 PDF, maximum size 10 MB) consists of the completed motivation form and a maximum of three text samples. Published or unpublished texts or text fragments of a journalistic, literary, lyrical, dramatic, experimental or hybrid nature are eligible, including the text types play, screenplay, script for audio formats. Maximum length per text sample: 20 DIN A4 pages. At the beginning of each text sample, the status is declared in max. 5 lines: For published texts: when and where published; for unpublished texts: when written; writing occasion or aim; text status (e.g. draft, rough version, edited and corrected version).

Applicants who do not meet the requirements regarding these documents will not be admitted to the following interview.
- Interview
The interviews for the Minor Creative Writing starting in HS25 will take place on 15 May 2025. In these interviews, the required skills as well as the potential and qualified interest, focus and commitment of the applicants will be assessed.
