    Content

    CAS Choral Conducting (basic)
Fundamentals of rehearsals and conducting techniques for choral singing

The core of the course of study is individual instruction. To this end, your artistic priorities and goals will be discussed and defined individually at the beginning. Depending on your needs, there are two different contingents to choose from for designing your continuing education. The individual lessons are supplemented by the choir studio, where you can further expand and deepen your experience through practical training with vocal ensembles as part of class sessions. In addition, you have the opportunity to sit in on the major in choral conducting and thus gain further valuable observations and insights.

    CAS Choral Conducting (advanced)
    Professionalising, diversifying and deepening

The focus is on the individualised development of your conducting technique and rehearsal methodology with regard to the stylistics of various works of classical choral music. In one-to-one lessons, you will work specifically on your artistic and technical priorities and expand your repertoire knowledge. These lessons will be deepened through practical experience in working with Zurich choirs, vocal ensembles from the university and active participation in the choral conducting studio. You will also have the opportunity to sit in on the classes and masterclasses of the conducting major, thus gaining additional insights and experience and benefiting from the exchange with students and lecturers.

The โ€œCAS Choral Conducting advancedโ€ is a prerequisite for admission to the two degrees โ€œDAS in Music Practice / Specialising in Choral Conductingโ€ and โ€œMAS in Music Practice / Specialising in Choral Conductingโ€.

Both CAS in Choir Conducting conclude with a written reflection on the individual learning objectives formulated at the beginning of the course and the learning process that has taken place.
