The learning philosophy describes our approach to teaching and learning in this education program.

      –
      Co-creative

We view students as active participants in the joint learning process and work with them on an equal footing. We see students as experts in their disciplines who simply take on a different role in the classroom. Our goal is to promote creativity and critical thinking and to apply these skills consciously in different contexts. To this end, we create contemporary formats and content, peer learning, and experimental settings. Experience-based learning, i.e., learning by doing, acting, and experiencing, is at the heart of what we do.

      –
      Experience-oriented

We teach actively and in an engaging manner, combining methodical work with playful interventions and strategic thinking with applied design. In doing so, we encourage thinking outside the box, i.e., taking into account space, materials, the body, and relationships in order to gain new insights.

      –
      Courageous

We take different learning styles and needs into account. At the same time, we believe that learning takes place at the boundaries of the comfort zone and that “constructive irritation” gives rise to new ideas. To this end, we strive to create an atmosphere that encourages courage to change and try new things, and where mistakes are seen as a natural part of the learning process.

      –
      Mixed learning

The integration of digital possibilities is a natural part of our teaching. We work online, in hybrid formats, and on site, striving to combine the most exciting and efficient aspects of different worlds. Despite our affinity for the digital world, the physical and material remain equally important aspects.

      –
      Application-oriented

The content, methods, and theories taught are scientifically sound. However, we do not remain bogged down in theory, but always apply these findings in practice. We consider reflection by students and the transfer of knowledge into their own everyday lives and careers to be essential components of learning.
