With the advent of ChatGPT and the explosion of AI-driven apps and websites, anyone can create AI-generated content. For artists and creative professionals to be able to adapt AI techniques to their specific interests and needs, it is crucial to gain an understanding of the concepts, functional principles, and programming tools that underlie these techniques.

The CAS AI for Creative Practices brings together artists and digital experts from the ZHdK and the mathematical department of the University of Bern through their shared interest in the application of AI in the creative field. As with other disruptive technologies, the resulting potential for automation represents a great benefit for human society, but also brings with it new challenges and risks. In this CAS, artists and creative professionals can acquire the necessary skills to work with AI and the knowledge to question and comment on it. The program is structured into six modules over 20 course days from August to January, and will end in June with a public exhibition of the resulting works. The target group are art students and professionals from the public and private sector.

Programme

The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Artificial Intelligence for Creative Practices (AICP) is offered by the Mathematical Institute of the University of Bern and by the Continuing Education Department of the Zurich University of the Arts.
