    Connie Walther

    Connie Walther is a German film director, author and lecturer.

    After training as an advertising photographer in Düsseldorf, she studied Directing at dffb in Berlin. She is a founding member of Pro Quote Regie, was a member of the German Film Academy board for four years and is currently on the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) short film judging panel. She teaches at various film universities and educational institutions.

    Her graduate thesis film “Das erste Mal” (“The First Time”) won numerous prizes for young filmmakers, and she also won the Adolf Grimme Award for her second film “Hauptsache Leben” (“Life Is the Main Thing”) and for “Frau Böhm sagt Nein” (“Ms Böhm Says No”). She was named Best German Director in 2008 for “12 heißt: ich liebe Dich” (“12 Means: I Love You”). Her cinema film “Wie Feuer und Flamme” (“Never Mind The Wall”) was nominated for the German Film Award and her new cinema film “Die Rüden” (“The Rude”) is opening across Germany in April 2020.
