    Institutional quality

    dekoratives Bild

Institutional quality has to do with the framework conditions that ZHdK creates to fulfil its mandate. They relate to strategy, organization, processes, management, personnel development, cooperation, participation, communication, sustainability, equal opportunities and diversity, and more  using a range of instruments to facilitate the process:

      • Surveys

        Employee surveys

By undertaking regular, topic-related employee surveys, ZHdK receives information on the working conditions and working situation in different fields of study.

      • Evaluations & monitorings

        Development focal points

Objectives, strategic measures and development projects between the President and directors are laid down in development focal points and reviewed on a regular basis.

        Key figures

ZHdK uses quantitative information for quality assurance and quality development purposes, and prepares the key figures for strategic decision-making purposes.

        Reporting

Reporting is an instrument that the University Board uses to systematically engage with the implementation of performance mandates and strategy.

        Quality interviews

Quality assurance and quality development activities are planned and set down together in the annual quality interviews. They are a tool to develop and reflect on the quality assurance system on an ongoing basis.

        Internal control system

ZHdK uses the internal control system to ensure that its financial controlling is of a high standard.

      • Quality assurance processes

        Strategy process

In an iterative and collaborative strategy process, ZHdK is continuously working on the strategic direction. The goals create a clear focus for the future. The impact-orientated formulation provides clear guidelines on the one hand and creates scope for implementation on the other.

        Institutional review

Every seven years, ZHdK performs a development-oriented peer review in which its institutional quality is assessed by external reviewers.
