The CAS Facilitating Innovation is structured into a total of seven workshop modules, each of which takes place from Thursday to Saturday, from  9 am to 4.30 pm (subject to change).

    Module 1 – Facilitation

    Aspects of facilitation

    Class of 2025/26: Thurs–Sat, 4.–6.9.2025
    Class of 2026/27: Thurs–Sat, 3.–5.9.2026

In this introductory module, we explore the various dimensions of facilitation. In an era of AI, it is crucial for individuals to collaborate across disciplines, teams, and roles. But what does facilitation entail? What characterises good facilitators? Participants will learn about key concepts, methods, tools, and the important ingredients for successfully supporting stakeholders in innovation and transformation processes.

    Module 2 – Methods

    Design methods for Collaborative Innovation

    Class of 2025/26: Thurs–Sat, 25.–27.9.2025
    Class of 2026/27: Thurs–Sat, 24.–26.9.2026

The focus is on applying and further developing co-creation methods to interact with stakeholders in an experience-oriented way. Participants will learn to identify relevant target groups and actively involve them in playful workshop settings. They will also practise useful facilitation techniques and methods for collecting, developing and implementing collaborative innovation projects.

    Module 3 – Individuals

    Embodied facilitation

    Class of 2025/26: Thurs–Sat, 23.–25.10.2025
    Class of 2026/27: Thurs–Sat, 22.–24.10.2026

Successful facilitation situations depend on the multi-sensory presence of not only the facilitator, but also all the other participants. Physicality and self-reflection are decisive factors here. This module teaches experiential techniques ranging from improvisation to experience prototyping, providing space to apply these techniques.
The declared aim is to develop a keen sense of the appropriate interplay between body and mind for all participants in various situations and activities.

    Module 4 – Groups

    Team facilitation

    Class of 2025/26: Thurs–Sat, 13.–15.11.2025
    Class of 2026/27: Thurs–Sat, 12.–14.11.2026

Facilitators' core business is group dynamic processes. How should facilitators react when workshop participants resist? What should you do when hierarchies paralyse the group? Role-playing games, Lego Serious Play and AI-supported simulations will help you react more confidently in team meetings, innovation workshops and large-group events. This module focuses on helpful tactics and strategies for the facilitator role in high-energy settings. It thus adds another dimension to the individual repertoire of methods.

    Module 5 – Company

    Business Facilitation

    Class of 2025/26: Thurs–Sat, 4.–6.12.2025
    Class of 2026/27: Thurs–Sat, 3.–5.12.2026

Every organisation has its own culture of collaboration. Facilitating transformation processes in these different cultures requires the facilitator to have a broad range of skills, as well as the ability to adapt their expertise to different settings (e.g. meetings) and digital platforms. Understanding different corporate practices helps you engage with stakeholders in a customised way and accompany change projects using communication strategies tailored to the target group.

    Module 6 – Impact

    Arguing, integrating and measuring facilitation

    Class of 2025/26: Thu–Sat, 8.–10.1.2026
    Class of 2026/27: Thu–Sat, 14.–16.1.2027

The value of good facilitation is difficult to quantify. Evidence-based methods can quantify process improvements and innovation steps. This shift in perspective towards data-based metrics strengthens the case for facilitation, anchoring it sustainably in transformation projects of all kinds. Furthermore, measurement principles are essential for organisational settings, complementing the transformative role of facilitators.

    Module 7 – Festival

    Facilitation Festival

    Class of 2025/26: Thu–Sat, 22.–24.1.2026
    Class of 2026/27: Thu–Sat, 4.–6.2.2027

Finally, we celebrate the various facilitation profiles that have emerged over the past few months. Participants will immerse themselves in concrete use cases and reflect on their personal development journeys. At a festive event, they will present the essence of their facilitation projects, providing an insight into current aspects of the facilitation discourse.
