Milica Tomić was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Since 2014, she has been the Head of the Contemporary Art Institute (Faculty of Architecture) at the University of Technology in Graz (Austria). Milica Tomić has developed a politically and socially-minded body of work that uses a variety of mediums, traversing boundaries between photography and video, installation and discursive, educational art, performance and socio-political engagement. Tomić's artistic practice encompasses collaborative and cross-disciplinary work. Her work introduces and opens different fields and methods of contemporary artistic practice that raise questions about political and economic violence, social amnesia, and the inextricable link between intimacy and politics. Milica Tomić is one of the founders of the new Yugoslav artistic and theoretical group, Grupa spomenik (2002-2014); founder of the project Four Faces of Omarska (2009-); and initiator of the independent exhibiting space "Annenstrasse 53," in Graz, Austria (2022-) that exposes unlearning processes.
Marcel Bleuler (Dr.phil.) explores art and research in terms of a possibility to re-negotiate social relations. At the Department of Fine Arts he is head of the Institute for Contemporary Art Research (IFCAR) and of the PhD-program in Fine Arts.
