Tarek Lakhrissi's work in installation, performance, film, text, and sculpture addresses political and social issues around transformative narratives in language, magic, and affect. His literary background is influenced by feminist and queer writers such as Elsa Dorlin, Jean Genet, Monique Wittig, and José Esteban Muñoz, giving his work a romantic feel. Every project he initiates starts from text, poetry and language, which are his main obsessions, before transferring ideas from these media into visual art. As part of ZHdK Art Talks, Lakhrissi will give an online conference performance where he will return to key moments of his practice and personal life through time travel.
