DIPLOMA PROJECT
I spent this year in Germany, surrounded by long winters, short daylight hours and cold people. All of this made it hard for me to rest physically and mentally in the night time. Over time, I slipped into a light form of depression that led me into deep introspection. I started questioning my behaviors, my relationships and who I truly am. Alone in my room, I explored different ways to express those thoughts, searching for a deeper understanding of myself, and for a way to sleep. My goal with this project is to tell this story in the least literal way possible, experimenting with different tools.
BIOGRAPHY
I'm Mattia Belgiorno a contemporary dancer just graduated from the Zürich University of Arts. Over the years I had the pleasure to work with artists like Nadav Zelner, Guy Shomroni and Roberta Ferrara that contributed to shaping my body and movement language. This season I've been working in the Stadt Theater Münster under the direction of Lillian Stillwell where I had the chance to discover different faces of this job. This career also gave me the opportunity to meet and get in touch with thousands of different art makers from all the world that contributed to build me as the person I am today.
