DIPLOMA PROJECT
People see their own experiences and memories in performances. The storyline or meaning of a piece can therefore be interpreted very differently from what was originally intended by the choreographer. This Bachelor Project experiments with said phenomenon. My aim was to tell a story in a way that evokes a wide variety of interpretations among the spectators.
The challenge lay in finding the balance between diluting my story enough to allow the audience to fill in their own experiences and memories, and giving the storyline enough substance for it to not be merely a series of suggestions.
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Zürich, Switzerland, I started moving to music soon after my legs were able to carry me. My first dance education was at the Zürcher Kinderballett Theater, where one of my biggest roles was the frog (but not the prince) in The Frog Prince. After being accepted into the Arts & Sports School Rämibühl, I transferred to the Ballettschule für das Opernhaus Zürich. Following my graduation, I began my Bachelor in Contemporary Dance at the Zurich University of the Arts, which I completed with an internship at the company De Stilte – Dans voor Kinderen in the Netherlands.
