DIPLOMA PROJECT / THESIS
- Project title: Still
- Description: “Still” explores presence, tension, and internal stillness within movement. I place myself in a constantly moving urban environment, surrounded by people and external activity in continuous flow, while my body remains still. This contrast highlights the relationship between inner stillness and external motion, and how perception shifts when one element breaks the rhythm of its surroundings. Through this work, I question how stillness can exist and be experienced in a world that never stops moving, and how the body can hold presence even when everything around it is in motion.

Q&A WITH FLORIAN MOZAR
What does dance mean to you?
- I don’t want to sound cliché, but dance means freedom to me. It’s a way to express myself honestly, and at this point in my life, I can’t imagine living without it.
What memory will you take with you from your time at ZHdK?
- One of the main things I’ll take with me from my time at ZHdK is the friendships I built with people from all over the world. Being surrounded by such diverse perspectives really shaped me, both personally and artistically. These connections are something I know will stay with me beyond school.
Which work or choreographer particularly inspires you, and why?
- I particularly like Akram Khan for his unique movement language and strong physicality. His work feels powerful and deeply expressive, with a clear sense of intention in every movement. It is very inspiring to me.
