DIPLOMA PROJECT
Drinking jugos de plátano - banana shakes - is a recurring anecdote from the five-month journey my family and I took to Mexico 20 years ago. It was very interesting to use this old footage of, naturally, nostalgic scenes, but moreover nature and details of a faraway place that are not stored in me as memory. I used the emotional impact of the scenes as inspiration for movement. In my dissertation I write about mental motor imagery; how mental pictures influence the body and its movement. To project the different qualities of the ocean or wind into my body through visualisation was the motivation and the goal of this project.
BIOGRAPHY
My name is Ana Blattner and I was born in Switzerland in 2003. After living my passion for movement in various disciplines, I found dance at the age of 17. I started my basic training in Basel in a small studio with the great support of my mentor. After a year at the Ballet School of the Zurich Opera House, I began my Bachelor's degree in Contemporary Dance at the Zurich University of the Arts. There I had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Nadav Zelner, Marco Goecke and Dunja Jocic. As my third year of studies, I got the chance to join the Tanztheater Pforzheim for my internship.
