DIPLOMA PROJECT / THESIS
- Project title: ‘Kind regars,…’
- Description: I tried to visualize the layers of the music and I wanted to do this in a symbolic way. I chose to do this with a letter that gets passed on from person to person and on which each person contributes with their own words until the letter is finished and gets posted. Writing letters has a very genuine feeling for me, and this music has too. With my project I wanted to make something gentle in this not-so-gentle social-media world. I hope it gives you a little smile.

Q&A WITH LIEVE DE LANGE
What does dance mean to you?
- It’s a language that doesn’t need words to be understood. It’s a language that doesn’t know borders. It’s a language that speaks for itself.
What memory will you take with you from your time at ZHdK?
- I will always remember that every single day during lunch, we sat outside on the balcony where we shared laughter, stories and experiences. The time we spend in the studio, taking classes and working on repertoire from choreographers from Switzerland and abroad. And the lovely yoga classes, we recorded one of them and I’m sure this class has been practiced in many different countries by now.
Which work or choreographer particularly inspires you, and why?
- At the moment, I’m inspired by the choreographic duo Imre and Marne van Opstal. They have a very creative view of the body and are able to create choreography in a way that always surprises me in a very positive way. And the way they combine dance, lighting design, costumes, music and decor feels very natural to me and gets me on the tip of my chair.
