How long have you been dancing and what do you love most about it?
I began dancing at the age of six, and what started as a simple way to pass the time soon became something much deeper. Over the years, dance transformed from just movement into my very language of emotion, a silent way to communicate the feelings I often couldn’t put into words. Through dance, I learned to connect, to share, and to feel seen in a way that no other form of expression ever could.
What has been your most memorable moment at Zurich Dance Academy?
There have been many memorable moments, but one that stands out is when Matthys and I, thanks to the Zurich Dance Academy, had the incredible opportunity to travel to the Académie Princesse Grace. There, we learned a choreography that we later performed at the YAGP Gala in New York. Surrounded by talented dancers, I was inspired by their passion and dedication. The experience helped me grow not only as an artist but also as a person, teaching me valuable lessons about collaboration and the power of dance.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I hope to keep dancing and embracing the joy it brings, no matter where life takes me. Whether I’m performing on a stage or simply enjoying a moment to myself, dance will always be a part of who I am. It’s a way for me to stay connected to the world and continue sharing something I love, wherever I may be.
The best feeling on stage is for me…
When I’m on stage, it’s not just about showcasing technique or demonstrating potential. It’s about something deeper, telling a story through each movement and using the dance to communicate emotions that words can't capture. It’s my way of inviting the audience into that story, allowing them to feel the emotions and connections I’m experiencing in that moment. I want them to see beyond the steps and to feel something real, something that lingers long after the performance ends.
What piece of advice would you give younger dancers who are hoping to grow and achieve their dreams in dance?
Stay passionate and dedicated, but don’t forget to enjoy the journey. Dance is a lifelong learning process, and it’s not just about perfecting technique, it’s about expressing yourself, growing as an artist, and embracing the challenges along the way. Surround yourself with supportive people who lift you up, stay open to learning, and always remember that every step, no matter how small, is a part of your growth. Trust the process, and never lose sight of why you started dancing in the first place.
