BIOGRAPHY
Hi, my name is Killian Gormley. I am 21 years old and originally from Dublin, Ireland. I began dancing at a young age, training at Westside Performing Arts, and my passion for movement has only grown since. At 18, I moved to London to further my training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, before relocating to Zurich to complete my Bachelor’s in Contemporary Dance. Following an incredibly fulfilling period in Zurich, I accepted an internship with the renowned dance company Introdans in the Netherlands. Through this experience, I have had the privilege of performing and collaborating with outstanding artists and choreographers, including Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Fernando Melo, Igor Bacovich, Iratxe Ansa, and many others.

DIPLOMA PROJECT / THESIS
- Project title: Love Liberates
- Description: Love Liberates is a dance film that reminds us to return to our roots - our nature and our love for life, passion, and art. It reflects on how social media and society push us to create within narrow expectations, instead of making work from the heart. The film encourages a more honest, instinctive approach to dance, free from predefined ideas of what it should be.

Q&A WITH KILLIAN GORMLEY
What does dance mean to you?
- Dance is a way of life. For me dance is a way we can be the most authentic version of ourselves. A way to share human experience in the most pure way, regardless of background or circumstances.
What memory will you take with you from your time at ZHdK?
- The memory of finding the most authentic real version of myself living life to the absolute fullest, surrounded by some of the best people I have ever met.
Which work or choreographer particularly inspires you, and why?
- I really like the work of Alexander Ekman because it’s fun, creative, and full of energy. His pieces feel playful but still very precise and well-made. He creates a world for the audience to fully immerse in with the help of the outstanding choreography and scenography.
