Biografie
Renato Martins Longo was born in 1987 in São Paulo (Brazil), where he started at an early age to study trumpet simultaneously at the Municipal School of Music and at the School of Music of the Estate of São Paulo. In 2009 he earned his Bachelor's degree in music from the Music College Santa Marcelina in São Paulo while holding a full tuition scholarship of this institution. After a period of internship at the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra he started his Master's degree studies at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Media - Hannover with Prof. Jeroen Berwaerts and with the support of the DAAD music program scholarship. In 2013 he became a member of the Ensemble Modern Academy, in Frankfurt where he had an opportunity to have an intense contact and work with the most proeminent contemporary composers and artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. As an orchestral player he joined various youth and professional orchestras in Brazil and Germany and in 2014 he was appointed as a permanent member, the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, in Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Longo is also a prize winner of many competitions including the Felix Mendelsohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb 2015, in Berlin and the Lieksa 5th International Trumpet Competition 2016, in Finland. Since 2016 he is a permanent member of the Bern Symphony Orchestra and has constantly worked with orchestras like the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Basel Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra of the Suisse Romande.
