    Biografie

    Mònica Gaspar (geb.1973 Barcelona) ist Kunstwissenschaftlerin, Kuratorin und Autorin. Mit Schwerpunkt auf Design und kritisches Handwerk richtet sich ihre Arbeit auf eine Neudefinierung des ‘Angewandten’ als experimentellen Forschungsfeld. Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Institut für Theorie der ZHdK für das Forschungsprojekt 'Ästhetische Praktiken nach Bologna. Architektur, Design und Kunst als epistemische Kulturen "in the making".

    Lehraufträge und Mentorate an mehreren internationalen Hochschulen, u.a.: BA Visual Arts (Oslo National Academy of Arts), MA Jewellery and Corpus (Konstfack Stockholm), MA Metals, Ceramics and Critical Studies (Cranbrook Academy of Art), und im PHD Kolloquien (Bergen National Academy of Arts und Alvar Aalto University, Helsinky). Vorträge und Teilnahme an Forschungsseminare: IASPIS Stockholm, Sheffield Hallam University, V&A Museum London und in mehreren Fachkonferenzen (ICDHS Design History and Studies Conference, SDN Swiss Design Network). Kuratorin für die Angewandte Kunst und Design Sammlung (heutige Design HUB Museum, Barcelona 1998 - 2002). Kuratierte Ausstellungen: 'Nomad Room' (CCB Design Museum, Lisabon), 'Neue Masche' (Bellerive Museum Zurich) und 'Metadomestic' (Landesgalerie, Linz) unter anderen.

    Forschungsschwerpunkte: Design und Handwerk als kritische und reflexive Praxis, Ausstellungen als Forschungsdispositiv.
