Biografie

CURRICULUM VITAE
Violinist Maj Jurisevic was born in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. He began his music
career at the age of six. After primary music school, he continued his secondary education at
The Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana under the guidance of Professor Volodja
Balžalorsky. In 2018, he won an Art scholarship from the Chinese government and started studying
at the College of Chinese and ASEAN Arts of Chengdu University with Prof. Tymur Melnyk and Prof. Isaac Ormaza Vera, where he obtained bachelor’s and master’s degree. He has regularly taken part in national and international competitions
and performed on various stages across Europe and China.
Maj Jurisevic has also attended several masterclasses with renowned professors, such as
Asja Kushner, Helfried Fister, Igor Ozim, Wonji Kim Ozim, Michael Frischenschlager and
Vladimir Ivanov.
Maj Jurisevic was a prize-winner in numerous international competitions, such as: Concorso
Europeo "Alfredo e Vanda Marcosig" in Italy, Euritmia in Italy, Rudolf Matz in Croatia, Talents
for Europe in Slovakia, and the Porec Violin Competition in Croatia.
He was a first-prize winner at Ars Nova Competition in Italy, Music Competition Valetta in
Malta, Melbourne Festival Competition in China, 11 Hong Kong International Violin
Competition, F. Mendelssohn International Competition, Shenzhen String Competition in
China, Youth Music Competition in chamber music in China, Music competition Slovenia TEMSIG in Slovenia.
