Biografie
My name is Daria Sannikova. I am eighteen years old and I am a pianist. I was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, but currently I live in Lithuania, because of the war in my country and particularly – in my hometown.
My passion for music started when I was six. There are no musicians in my family and unexpectedly for my parents it was my own desire. I remember once when I imagined myself on the stage playing the piano, which made me realize that I really want to be a pianist. Since nine years old, with the support of my family and school in Kharkiv, I have been participating in a number of competitions where I have mostly ended up with prize-winning places. These competitions are presented in my curriculum vitae.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have an opportunity to finish my school in Kharkiv (because of the war), where I have spent a lot of time and effort learning music among other subjects.
I have been living in Lithuania for a year and a half since March 2022. That is the reason why I had finished my last year of school in Vilnius at Chiurlionio school of the Arts with Prof. Justas Dvarionas. In May 2022 I entered VMU Music Academy in Kaunas to his class.
In February 2023 I traveled to Switzerland to participate in a piano competition in Neuchâtel. I had a unique opportunity to attend a couple of piano lessons at ZHdK at class of Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov. Since I was deeply impressed, I decided to apply for studies there and was successfully assigned to his class in May 2023.
Besides music, I am passionate about reading books and recently discovered my passion for nature and sport. With great enthusiasm I also study the biographies of various artists and composers. I am also fluent in English and Russian besides my native Ukrainian language. I speak a little Lithuanian, Czech as well and improve my German every day.
As I am a motivated, ambitious person, it is of great interest to me to further develop and perfect my musical playing. For this reason I would very much like to continue my education in Switzerland.
