Biografie
Celia Ruiz Bermudo was born in Spain in 2005. At the age of seven she began her musical studies and at 17 she completed her higher education in Spain with an honor degree.
At the age of 16 she was accepted at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg where she completed her Bachelor's studies in October 2024 in Enrico Bronzi's class.
Celia has received master classes from Álvaro Campos, Josep Martínez Reinoso, Javier Albarés, Suzana Stefanovic, Lluís Claret, Daniel Grosgurin, Asier Polo, Marc Coppey, Fernando Arias, Ericca Wise, Gary Hoffman, Sebastian Klinger, Amit Peled, Gautier Capuçon, Jerome Pernoo, Pablo Ferrández, Wen Sing Yan, Kian Soltani, Thomas Grossenbacher, Enrico Dindo and David Geringas. For five years she regularly received master classes from María de Macedo, and in the years who followed from Mikolaj Konopelski.
She is also a scholarship holder at the Liechtenstein International Music Academy and participates in the intensive weeks and activities there.
Winner of the “Jaime Dobato Benavente” Young Promises International Cello Competition, the Intercentros Melómano Competition, the CelloLeón Competition, the Young Musicians of Extremadura Competition, as well as the Special Soloist Prize with the OEX, the "Ciudad de Vigo" String, Llanes International Cello Competition and special prize as Young Promise in the Dotzauer Competition (14 years old) and finalist of the Janigro Competition (14 years old). She participated in the TVE programs "Virtuosos" and "Prodigios". She was selected at the age of 14 for taking the exam in Gautier Capuçon's excellence class, she received a scholarship from Amit Peled (15 years old) for summer studies at the University of Baltimore and a scholarship to complete the "Youth Classics" courses (2022 and 2023) in Rheinau (Switzerland) in Thomas Grossenbacher's class. She was also selected as an active student to participate in the Liechtenstein Intensive Weeks in the class of Thomas Grossenbacher, in the class of Kian Soltani and at the Pavia Cello Academy (2023/24) with Enrico Dindo,
Asier Polo and David Geringas.
Celia plays a Patrick Robin cello borrowed from the “Musique et Vin” Foundation directed by Gautier Capuçon.
Since 2024 she has been studying Master Music Performance - Major Violoncello at the Zhdk in Zurich in the class of Thomas Grossenbacher.
Celia has performed at the Mérida Convention Center and the Carolina Coronado Theater in Almendralejo, performing with the Extremadura orchestra. She has performed at the Roman theater in Mérida with the young orchestra of Extremadura, at the Segovia Festival and as a finalist in Zagreb's Janigro Competition (Croatia).
