General Information on ZHdK Master of Advanced Studies (MAS), Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS), and Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) Programmes
At Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), we offer a range of professional development courses at our respective departments and institutes. Further education is thus closely linked to research and teaching. The Department of Continuing Education ensures that all further education offered at ZHdK is closely aligned with professional standards, as determined by the Conference of Rectors of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences (KFH). Our role is to coordinate, market, and develop continuing education opportunities along stringent strategic lines.
Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) offers the following university-level professional development opportunities:
- Master of Advanced Studies (MAS)
- Diploma of Advanced Studies (MAS)
- Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS)
MAS, DAS, and CAS courses are aimed at individuals holding university degrees or equivalent qualifications and relevant professional experience. Admission requirements vary according to course specifics. Course directors will assess all applications for admission in detail.
Programme duration and qualifications
Continuing education courses are pursued alongside employment. Candidates are awarded ECTS points. Certificate courses (CAS) last two semesters (10-20 ECTS); successful candidates are awarded a certificate by Zurich University of Applied Sciences. Diploma courses (DAS) are awarded a total of 30 ECTS. Master’s courses (MAS) last four semesters (60 ECTS). Coursework requires the submission of a written dissertation or project essay. MAS courses are protected under Federal legislation. Upon successful completion, participants are awarded a Master of Advanced Studies of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.
General Information on Conferences, Symposia, and Further Education at ZHdK
Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) offers a wide range of public conferences, symposia, and specialist programmes in entrepreneurship, art and art education, dance and theatre. Taught by qualified faculty, our events and courses are designed to extend and deepen the cultural skills of adults within and beyond their professional field.
We also offer regular further education programmes for faculty members and course tutors.
