Highlights Fine Arts
MAKE Project
In 2023, five ZHdK Master students in Fine Arts had the opportunity to participate in MAKE, an exhibition and discussion exchange platform between selected leading international art universities: Chung Ang University in Seoul/South Korea, Yale-NUS College in Singapore, Parsons School of Design in New York/USA, the Institute of Technology in Bandung, Indonesia, and the Zurich University of the Arts/CH.
Since 2019, a group of lecturers and students from the five involved universities come together at one of the participating institutions to explore different forms of making for a week. Together, they delve into a range of topics including: the edges of technology in storytelling, the notion of translation and the slippages in meaning, how travel and the encounter with the new can become spiritual experiences, and the commodification of everything in late capitalism. MAKE endeavors to break hierarchical educational structures and to blur boundaries between who is teaching and who is learning.
ZHdK was the host of the 2023 edition. The final exhibition was open to the public and presented on 5 October 2023.
