Fungi Cosmology is a 3-year international transdisciplinary research project bringing together artists, scientists, curators and anthropologists around the topic of fungi. Our common vision is to engage in a long-term exchange with/about and through decolonizing methods and curatorial practices to create and raise awareness for sustainable ways of engaging with human and non-human environments.
The aim of this transdisciplintary and -cultural project is to enable challenging collaboration and foster develop of new knowledge, languages and methods of research from the observation and analysis of the symbiotic relationships of fungi.
This project is a partnership between LABverde in Brazil, CAB in Chile, the Artists-in-Labs program, and Food Culture Days in Switzerland. The project brings together a diverse group of artists and scientists from each region, with three field trips serving as the project's cornerstone. These immersive expeditions took place in the Amazon (Spring 2023), Patagonia (Spring 2024), and the Swiss Alps (Autumn 2024), where participants have been conducting field research focused on the local fungi ecosystems.
