Health coordination

The health and safety of each and every student at taZ is of paramount importance. Dancers in training need health-related care, as essential physical maturation and growth processes take place at their age. Our team`s specific dance-related expertise allows us to effectively address the unique needs of dancers.

At taZ, topics such as illness, injuries and pain should be discussed openly and without fear. Students should be able to confide in others and seek appropriate professional help.

For this reason, we have established a Health Coordination Office for health-related topics of our students, led by Anna Schnyder. In addition, we have established guidelines on procedures and communication about medical, nutritional and psychological care at taZ. This helps us to ensure that our students are well-informed and cared for.

    Physical therapy - in-house

In order to take care of the physical well-being of our students, our in-house physical therapist is available for treatments during week days and at no cost to students. This way, acute complaints or injuries can be examined and treated directly.

Your contact person is Daan Van den Akker, physical therapist, BSc., e-mail.

      Nutrition - in-house

Tanz Akademie Zürich strives to promote a positive attitude toward healthy nutrition and body image. A variety of offers are dedicated to this topic and are available to students and their parents at any time.

Your contact is Anna Schnyder, certified nutrition-counselor, email.

        Medical support - external

Ballet and dance training can be extremely demanding. Young dancers therefore require regular medical check-ups to ensure the prevention, early diagnosis, and specialist treatment of illnesses and injuries. Students receive comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and professional medical supervision from functiomed, as well as Letzimed Medical Center.

          Physical therapy - external

For extensive physiotherapeutic treatments, our students are cared for externally by the practice Physiotherapie Altstetten. Cesar Ricardi and Selina Meier are two experienced physical therapists who are experts in the treatment of ballet dancers.
