With the help of magenta colour filters (LEE 332), daylight is filtered and the whole room is intensively coloured.
As you enter, experience how perception changes and selectively adjusts. Observe how the magenta becomes weaker and a green afterimage appears wherever you look into white light.
Depending on the time of day and lighting conditions, the perceived colour changes from bright magenta in direct sunlight to bluish violet in cloudy or indirect twilight, as well as in shadow areas. When the sun goes down, the increased long-wave components of the light become visible and the filtered direct sunlight colours the room reddish.
This immersive colour experience opens up the possibility for visitors to experience the architectural space in a new way and to observe and question their own colour perception.
At the same time, the installation refers to the tradition of coloured glass in sacred buildings.
