The starting point was a non-glossy cardboard model of a corridor with various side passages. In front of each passage a dimmable slide projector was placed by which the model was illuminated with carefully calibrated monochrome colour slides.
Each modification in colour was captured from a camera in the same position and the pictures were brought together to create a film animation. In contrast to the model, the room in the film looks very real, and viewers have the feeling that they are standing in the middle of it. By means of the projected colours a considerable image depth is created. With the superimposition of two photographs, intermediary pictures are also generated.
In another experimental set (What Is Going On Around Here) human and mechanical sounds are brought together to form an auditory backdrop, which is synchronized with the colour-light crossings. The colours provide each viewer with insights into an invisible space and call forth new associations. Unique worlds and impressions are created.
By experimenting with colour, sound and time completely new situations can be yielded from a single starting point, for example the imaginary extension of space.
