This project is based on slides with coloured filter foils. By partially covering the slides with cardboard, basic geometric shapes were created that were then projected into the corner of a darkened room. The wall in front of the projector reflected the light more intensively than the side wall. This lent the geometrical projection a spatial effect. To emphasize this effect, a piece of foil of the same colour was taped over parts of the shapes on the slide, which caused the projected colour to appear darker.
The slides were projected onto only the front wall. The figures seemed to emerge from the wall, though they consisted only of light. The colour illumination on the adjacent wall and on the floor enabled the light figures to appear as if they were hovering in the room.
The figure and its light intensity changed depending on the location of the projector. If two different coloured figures were projected on top of one another, the colour mixture yielded additional shapes, which, however, appeared less spatial.
By means of additional slide and overhead projectors a group of different coloured figures were arranged. Viewers can choose their own position in such a way that the spatial colour illumination of the figures seems stronger or weaker. The more time one spends viewing the shapes, the more spatial they appear.
