Twelve-year-old Floh tries to sleep, yet her father's rough cough keeps her awake. The following day her big brother Lukas packs his military bag. Floh gets home dirty, so he takes time to help her clean. That's when he realises the burn marks all over his sisters shoulders. He immediately packs her stuff and commands her to come with him. She refuses, and as the parents arrive Lukas leaves the house. Plagued by a guilty conscience he returns later that night and lies down next to his little sister. In his presence Floh finally falls asleep. As the sun rises, she lays in his bed all alone.
