On a rattling train silent faces can be seen and a few muffled voices can be heard. 8-year-old Samuel does not speak to his parents. He prefers to watch the passing world through the train window. As he runs off with the family dog through the aisles of the train, the supposed expectations of the other passengers prompt the parents to reprimand their son. Despite the presence of the other passengers, they loudly discuss the origin of their son's behaviour as the train takes the family steadily towards their holiday.
